After being hidden in the file repository for several months, XoopsPoll 1.31 is now released. This version is a small update to the 1.3 version released in the beginning of 2010. Added features (compared to 1.3): + Log of votes for each poll available in admin section (thanks to X-Bandit for this feature) + No. of comments incl. link to them available in block (if comments enabled) + No. of total votes available in block + Poll description on the voting and results pages + Redirect back to original page after vote if voting from block, otherwise redirect to results page Changes/bugfixes: - Removal of links to vote on index and results pages if a user has already voted Install: If upgrading from 1.3, just copy over original files and update module. If upgrading from version 1.2 or earlier, please uninstall original version of XoopsPoll and make a fresh install. Click here to download the module.

It's always important to"walk the talk", or Eating your own dog food , so we have updated our Website to XOOPS 2.5.0 RC . This will allow us to find any problems before we release it to you, our users, as a Final release. The update went very smooth, and as you can see, XOOPS 2.5.0 RC is working just fine, handling tons of traffic here However, we don't encourage you to use XOOPS 2.5.0 RC on your production sites, it is, after all, still not the final release. We have the experts in house, so we can fix things very quickly, which might not be the case with you. So please test it on your local PC and let us know any issues that you might have. We would like to release the Final within a week or so, unless you report any major showstoppers. So let's focus this week and testing and more testing! Xortify 2.25 Cloud Computing Sentry for Protector This was my first title with the use of API's and a cloud server. Cloud computing is all the rage now and even yoursite with any later xoops 2 will be able to be a cloud with the right plugins written. This applet for XOOPS allows you to maintain the ban list in the cloud, whenever someone attempts a security intrusion in xoops and you are running xortify it will pick up this ban and pass it onto everyone in the cloud, preventing xoops from being farmed or having a farmed attack. Once someone is banned by protector, that is put into the bad ips bin, xortify will port this IP and details to www.xortify.com via an API, this is then distributed to everyone else within the time frame you have xortify cycling on. If the person gotos that site then they are assumed banned being on the clouds IP range and displays a ban notice. X-JSON 1.42 Well for awhile now I have been making API for XOOPS. What are these? Well the TLA API stands for Application Programmable Interface, this is a tool on a site that allows other sites to embed data from them with the use of an API. Many sites use these an example of one is twitter and all the scrolly tweet feeds you can see around the place. These work with an API that has an associated username and password with the site. I recently added to the family of API which was originally only available with SOAP with two newer titles X-cURL and X-JSON. essentially these second apis are functionally the same at this point of development. This is hopefully the final release of X-JSON, I have been busy making a cloud with it called Xoritify which is hosted on www.xortify.com which uses API technology to link my modules with a centralized data source. At the moment I am having to meet monthly billing straters so sometimes it is offline but most of the applications at least the ...

Spiders 2.60 Spiders is a tool for managing your spiders, crawlers and robots that come to your site. It also utilises cloud technology to spread the robots around the network using the cloud as an SEO Advantage. This will allow you to assign User Agents of a robot to a user and user group, which means you can control with xoops permissioning the crawl radius on your site. It is also a useful tool to use if you need to by generating a secondary group for banned and aggressive bots and assigning the user for that bot to it. There have been some improvements to the maths system that is used to identify a robot. I suggest a match percentile of around 53% which is the last option in the preferences. You can get a list of robots from the cloud as well as add robots or change details of a robot in the cloud by using the send option in the installed robots section of the software. The XOOPS Development Team is pleased to announce that a new version of the Top 5 Finalist of 2010 Packt Open Source CMS - XOOPS 2.5.0 RC is available for download. ( Don't forget to vote for XOOPS: read here ) The XOOPS 2.5.0 release is a major redesign of the System Module which has been AJAX-ed with jQuery done mainly by Nicolas Andricq (ForMusS), Cointin Maxime (kraven_30), and Grégory Mage (Mage). Other major contributors include Trabis, Voltan, Kris_fr, and Marco.
