We are extremely happy to announce that Onokazu, the Founder of XOOPS is returning to XOOPS He will be joining us as the very first member of our newly established XOOPS Advisory Board! The XOOPS Advisory Board will include respected and well known individuals, who will be helping us with strategic direction for XOOPS. And we couldn't think of anybody more deserving to be the first member of the XOOPS Advisory Board than the Founder of XOOPS - Onokazu! We are very happy to announce that Catzwolf is officially joining the XOOPS Development Team. He is a brilliant developer, author of countless XOOPS modules, and we are extremely happy to have him back with us. Please extend a warm"welcome back"to John. With this we would like to officially extend an invitation to all past, non-active XOOPS developers to come back and join us on the journey of making XOOPS the best CMS in the world. We are sure that while away you've learned a lot of new things and programming tricks, from which XOOPS could benefit. tidy joint for wrong RSS/Atom

There are a lot of invalid feeds of RSS/Atom in the world. eg) http://feedanalyzer.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ec-cube.net%2Fec-cube.php But we cannot fix the feed by ourselves. (just claim it) Then, you can use 'tidy' for such a purpose. With d3pipes 0.61, we added a joint D3pipesReplaceTidy4xml. Just insert 'tidy4xml' before xml parser. You will receive such invalid RSS/Atom into your XOOPS.

We found XSS valnabirity at our sources. Backpack v0.91 or before Bmsurvey v0.84 or before Newbb_fileup v1.83 or before News_embed v1.44 ( news_fileup ) or before Popnupblog v3.19 or before If you are using those scripts we recommend update immediately. Jump to vendor site

dev.xoops.org is open for developers

We are pleased to announce that our development site, http://dev.xoops.org is open for business. As most of you know, it was damaged by malicious hackers last year, and it took us some time to repair it. We believe, it's now working, but if you find any problems, please let us know. We would like to thank all the people who supported us in the transition, installation, and testing of the dev.xoops.org site. And to all of XOOPS users and supporters - we very much appreciate your patience, while we were working on that. We are working hard on getting XOOPS where it should be, and going live with dev.xoops.org is only one of many things that we are working on. XOOPS changes its theme to Zetagenesis

It's always important to walk the talk, so today we're switching to Zetagenesis Theme, which is one of the standard themes that we'll be delivering with the Core. This theme will be also utilized across different XOOPS sites, so we can achieve consistent look and feel for our users. If there are any problems with the theme, or if you have any improvement suggestions, please let us know. Enjoy the new look of the new XOOPS

Video Tube Update v1.1

Video Tube v1.1 is scheduled to be released on Monday, April 28, 2008 and is currently being field tested. It contains some bug fixes such as administrator edit function not working and some blocks appearing twice based on certain templates. The major change is that all module templates and database interaction functions have been updated so the module works with XOOPS 2.0.16 and up PLUS it is now compatible with XOOPS 2.2.x sites. One new feature has been added so Registered User's Submissions can be Auto Approved. Video Tube is an XOOPS module that is part of CVD's KISS modules. KISS stands for Keep It Simple Series. The module provides the ability to manage YouTube videos and display them on your site taking advantage of the video embedding feature available through YouTube. Jobs 3.0 RC3 released

I have released RC3. I have fixed all the errors reported on my site( www.jlmzone.com ), plus some others. I have also added some extra security in the code, which makes it necessary to upgrade to this version. If you are upgrading from 3.0 RC2 you don't need to use the upgrade script, but all other versions need to run the upgrade script. To run the upgrade script point your browser to: yoursite/modules/jobs/admin/upgrade.php You need to be logged in as admin to run this script. If you are not sure, run the script, it can't hurt. I have also fixed the resume search function, but it requires a very small core hack. You can find the hack in the forums on my site, look for'resume search hack'. You can find the module HERE. We are making Xoops Nordic ... a portal for local Xoops sites in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland... It will serve as a central hub for all XOOPS users in those countries, syndicating news and information from our local sites, so users can see what's happening around them up north...
